Decodable books for consonant digraphs
A digraph is two letters that team up to spell a single sound. The sh in ship, the ch in chip, the th in bath, the ck in duck: in each case the letters can't be sounded out separately, because s and h together don't say s then h, they make one new sound. Learning to treat these pairs as a single unit is often a reader's first taste of the idea that English spelling isn't strictly one letter for one sound. Digraphs usually arrive as soon as CVC words are solid, and they unlock hundreds of everyday words that plain three-letter decoding can't reach.
A good sign your student is ready is that they decode short words smoothly and no longer pause on every letter. Point to the sh or th and name the sound the pair makes together; many children pick it up quickly once they stop trying to say each letter on its own. Series like Charge into Reading and Phonic Books' Dandelion Launchers introduce digraphs gradually, one at a time, so a new reader isn't swamped, and Flyleaf's readers and Magic Belt give children connected stories where the same sounds show up again and again in context.

Common questions
What are decodable books for consonant digraphs?
Two consonants that spell a single sound: sh, ch, th, wh, ck. Usually introduced soon after CVC words. Decodable books for this skill use only words a student can sound out with it (plus previously taught patterns), so new readers practice decoding instead of guessing.
How is this list put together?
Every alignment comes from the publisher's own published scope and sequence — never from third-party spreadsheets — and each record links its source. Sets that introduce consonant digraphs as the new skill are listed before sets that only practice it.
